Priority 03 · Direction under development

Rangatahi

Belonging, opportunity and a future worth believing in.

Why this matters

Rangatahi should inherit more than today’s problems. They deserve education that recognises their strengths, real pathways into meaningful work and a voice in decisions that will shape their lives.

Our starting principles

The direction
we believe in.

01

Education with purpose

Support learning that develops strong foundations, creativity, practical skills, culture and confidence.

02

Pathways into work

Build stronger links between schools, trades, tertiary learning, enterprise, technology and the creative industries.

03

Identity and belonging

Recognise whakapapa, language, culture, sport, music and community connection as sources of resilience and achievement.

04

Rangatahi voice

Create meaningful ways for young people to help shape the policies and services affecting them.

Developing this policy properly

Built with people.
Approved properly.

Before this priority becomes final party policy, MOREHU PARTY will:

  1. Hold dedicated rangatahi listening hui and accessible online engagement.
  2. Include educators, employers, whānau and youth-service providers.
  3. Measure success through wellbeing, participation and genuine opportunity—not statistics alone.
Policy status

This page sets out a founding priority and direction for policy development. It is not a final manifesto commitment. Detailed proposals will be consulted on, costed where required and approved through MOREHU PARTY’s proper democratic processes.
